Organic Fish hosted the Akim of Mangystau Region, Nurdaulet Kilybay, on a working visit. The regional head toured Central Asia’s first marine fish farming facility, located in the waters of the Caspian Sea near the port of Kuryk.
On the day of the visit, another stocking phase was carried out: 6,000 kg (approximately 30,000) juvenile salmon were released into Norwegian net cages.
The project is being implemented in line with the instructions of the Head of State and is aimed at developing marine aquaculture, diversifying the agro-industrial sector, and creating new jobs.
The Akim emphasized the strategic importance of the project as Kazakhstan’s first experience in marine fish farming, as well as its contribution to regional economic development, job creation, and the formation of a high-tech industry.
