Achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals
In 2015, the UN General Assembly adopted the Resolution “Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.” The Sustainable Development Agenda includes 17 goals that are comprehensive in nature and ensure a balance among the three components of sustainable development – economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability.
Aquaculture may contribute to achieving all 17 goals, directly or indirectly, nevertheless, the key goals are:

Goal 14 – Life below water

Goal 12 – Responsible consumption and production

Goal 8 – Decent work and economic growth

Organic Fish strives to achieve all these goals. So far, our intention is confirmed by the following actions:

Goal 14 – Life below water

We had selected our site carefully after the years of marine research in the Middle Caspian Sea in order to prevent pollution, reduce waste and minimize environmental impact, thus preserving local ecosystem and using marine resources sustainably.

Goal 9 – Industry, innovation and infrastructure

In the sea, the project considers for innovative technologies for cage designs, mooring systems, and monitoring systems for water quality and fish welfare.
On the land, the project contributes to development of local infrastructure.

Goal 8 – Decent work and economic growth

The project contributes to the economic growth by creating decent job opportunities, both directly on the farm and indirectly in processing and supply chain, and by paying taxes to the local budget.
